Christmas season is Glögg season. Glögg (IPA: /gləg/), is a Nordic mulled wine, and a staple at every ski vacation and Christmas party I attend. My father's parents were both born in Sweden, and they brought this delightful concoction to the State's when they immigrated.
Glögg is made with dry red wine, port, brandy, and various mulling spices. Our family recipe changes with each generation to suit changing tastes, so be sure to experiment to find your ideal composition.
For correct pronunciation, treat the ö as the "u" in put, or the "oo" in foot.
